description | An analysis of the reaction <math> <f> <ovl>p</ovl>p→ <g>p</g ><sup>+</sup><g>p</g><sup>-</sup><g>p</g><sup> <rm>o</rm></sup><g>w</g ></f> </math> is presented. The annihilations took place at rest in liquid hydrogen. This measurement finds that <math> <f> <g>p</g><sup >+</sup><g>p</g><sup>-</sup><g>p</g><sup><rm>o</rm> </sup><g>w</g></f> </math> is produced in 16.1 ± 1.0565544f such annihilations. A prominent signal of <math> <f> <ovl>p</ovl>p→ <g>w</g><g>w</g></f > </math> is observed. The rate for this process was measured using a technique which is practically background free; the measured rate is <math> <f> BR<fen lp="par"><ovl>p</ovl>p→ <g>w</g><g>w</g><rp post="par"></fen> =3.23± 0.25% .</f> </math> This rate is important in calculations concerning <math> <f> <ovl>p</ovl>p</f> < /math> annihilation dynamics. A partial wave analysis was also performed. New results include possible observation of ω π π decay modes for the <italic>a</italic><sub>1</sub>(1260), <italic >h</italic><sub>1</sub>(1170) and <italic>a</italic><sub>1</sub>(1700) . These results need confirmation. Also, the <italic>b</italic><sub>1< /sub>π decay mode of the ω (1600) is found to be stronger than the ω (π π )s decay mode: <math> <f> BR<fen lp="par "><g>w</g><fen lp="par">1600<rp post="par"></fen> → b<inf>1</inf ><g>p</g><rp post="par"></fen>/BR<fen lp="par"> <g>w</g><fen lp="par ">1600<rp post="par"></fen>→ <g>w</g> <fen lp="par"><g>p</g><g>p< /g><rp post="par"></fen><inf>s</inf> <rp post="par"></fen>=1.6± 0.2.</f> </math>. |
