Photodetection in the LHCb experiment using Pad HPDs
The aims, requirements and design of the LHCb experiment are introduced, with particular emphasis put on the design of the RICH system. Subsequently the development of the Pad HPD, one of the candidate photodetectors for the readout of the RICH system, is described. (5 refs).
