description I consider theories where supersymmetry breaking is communicated by renormalizable interactions and generated by the vacuum expectation value of a chiral superfield X=M+ theta /sup 2/F. I show that soft terms for the observable fields can be obtained by continuing the renormalization group and the matching procedure into superspace. The superspectrum is just determined by anomalous dimensions and beta functions, with no need to further compute any Feynman diagrams. This method greatly simplifies calculations that are rather involved if performed in components. For illustration I reproduce known results for theories with gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking. I then use the method to obtain new results of phenomenological importance. (15 refs).
