On The Order Of Levels In Charmonium
A theorem concerning the energies of the 2S and 3D states in a potential V(r)=-g/sup 2//r+V/sub c/(r), where V/sub c/ is a non- singular confining potential is proved. If (d/dr)/sup 3/ (r/sup 2/V /sub c/) is positive, then the 3D state lies above the 2S state in certain conditions. (8 refs).
