Sumario: | The purely leptonic decay Ds → μ ν is studied in a sample of four million hadronic Z decays collected in 1991- 1995 with the ALEPH detector at LEP. A linear discriminant analysis and a kinematic fit to the missing neutrino four-momentum are used to measure the branching fraction β (Ds → μ ν ) = (0.65 ± 0.085 [stat] ± 0.134 [sys] ± 0.157 [bf])%, where the last uncertainty is from the branching fraction β (Ds → μ ν ). Within the Standard Model, this result corresponds to <super>f</super>D s = (285 ± 19 [stat] ± 29 [sys] ± 41 [bf)] MeV. --- 26 --- AN |
