description The search for nu_mu --> nu_tau oscillation has been considered to be the ultimate target for the CHORUS experiment. Within the main goals of the detection, the direct observation of the taulepton by its kinematical decay topology in nuclear emulsion is a key feature. To prove the validity of various applicable kink search strategies, dimuonic charm events were selected and used to calculate the kink finding efficiency. The analysis shows that CHORUS is indeed able to locate with high precision decay topologies in the micrometer and millirad range required to detect nu_tau induced charged currents.
