Sumario: | The results from the CHORUS neutrino oscillation experiment are presented. CHORUS is looking for nu /sub mu / to nu /sub tau / oscillations using a hybrid detector approach, combining electronic detectors with a massive emulsion target. The data taking in the CERN's SPS wide band neutrino beam started in April 1994 and ended in September 1997. Up to now no candidate events for oscillation have been found in samples of 102861 and 7514 fully analyzed events respectively with and without a muon in the final state. On this base we set an upper limit on oscillation probability of P( nu /sub mu / to nu /sub tau /)<4.6.10/sup -4/. (11 refs). |
