Sumario:Data taken with the ALEPH detector at LEP II have been used to measure the photon structure function F/sub 2//sup gamma /. The data were collected in 1997 at a centre-of-mass energy of square root (s) approximately=183 GeV and analysed in the two Q/sup 2/ ranges from 7 to 24 and from 17 to 200 GeV/sup 2/. To determine F/sub 2//sup gamma /, a two-dimensional unfolding method employing the principle of maximum entropy is used, which reduces the errors compared to one- dimensional methods. The results are compared to the predictions of several theoretical models. (13 refs).
