Sumario: | The particle identification by using dE/dx analysis in the ALICE silicon inner tracking system (ITS) was studied by simulations. Correction procedures were considered and used to improve charge collection and resolution. Particle identification efficiencies and contamination rates depending on the function of momentum were obtained by the probability weight calculation for each particle species ( pi /sup +or-/, K/sup +or-/, p square root p). The investigation has been performed at the laboratory of high energies, JINR. (6 refs). |
