Searches for glueball candidates in $\gamma\gamma$ collisions at LEP and CESR
Recent results on resonance formation in gamma gamma collisions are presented. Searches for the two best glueball candidates, the f/sub 0 /(1500) and the f/sub S/(2220), in the pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ and in the K/sub S//sup 0/K/sub S//sup 0/ channels are reviewed. Sumario: | Recent results on resonance formation in gamma gamma collisions are presented. Searches for the two best glueball candidates, the f/sub 0 /(1500) and the f/sub S/(2220), in the pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ and in the K/sub S//sup 0/K/sub S//sup 0/ channels are reviewed. No evidence for the f/sub 0/(1500) or the f/sub J/(2220) signal is reported and new compelling upper limits, at 95% C.L., on their Gamma /sub gamma gamma / are set. These limits support the interpretation of the f/sub 0/(1500) and the f/sub J/(2220) in terms of gluon bound states. (10 refs). |
