Measurement of the W mass at LEP by direct reconstruction of W-pair semileptonic decays
The mass of the W boson is measured using semileptonically decaying W-pair events collected with the Aleph, Delphi, L3 and Opal detectors at LEPS. The invariant mass is determined and the distributions are used to extract the W mass. For data collected at E/sub cm/=172 and 183 GeV, the following com...

Sumario: | The mass of the W boson is measured using semileptonically decaying W-pair events collected with the Aleph, Delphi, L3 and Opal detectors at LEPS. The invariant mass is determined and the distributions are used to extract the W mass. For data collected at E/sub cm/=172 and 183 GeV, the following combined semileptonic result is obtained: M /sub W/=80.31+or-0.11 GeV/c/sup 2/. Delphi, L3 and Opal have also extracted a value for the W width. (9 refs). |
