Sumario:The course examines how we use information from detectors to make measurements, and hence to do physics. How do we get from megabytes of data to new understandings of basic physics? We'll talk about the role of "reconstruction", "simulation" and "analysis", investigate what it means to "do an experiment" from a large data sample, and learn about some of the computational problems faced in the process.
