Quark mass effects at NLO
The recent measurements of hadronic event shapes and jet rates in e /sup +/e/sup -/ to Z to qq into heavy quarks using massive NLO expressions are reviewed. These studies allowed us to test basic properties of QCD as the alpha /sub s/ universality and to measure the b quark mass. (12 refs).
