A new measurement of direct CP-violation by experiment NA48 at CERN
The NA48 experiment at CERN has performed a new measurement of the CP-violating parameter $\Re(\epsilon'/\epsilon)$. The experiment collects $K_{L}$ and $K_{S}$ decays into $\pi^{0}\pi^{0}$ and $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ from the same decay region simultaneously. A new measurement of the $\Re(\epsilon...

Sumario: | The NA48 experiment at CERN has performed a new measurement of the CP-violating parameter $\Re(\epsilon'/\epsilon)$. The experiment collects $K_{L}$ and $K_{S}$ decays into $\pi^{0}\pi^{0}$ and $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ from the same decay region simultaneously. A new measurement of the $\Re(\epsilon'/\epsilon)$ parameter based on the data collected during the 1998 run is presented. The preliminary result for the $\Re(\epsilon'/\epsilon)$ based on data collected in 1997 and 1998 is $(14.0 \pm 4.3) \times 10^{-4}$. |
