Sumario:The standard model of particle physics is a successful but experimentally incomplete theory and the large electron positron collider running yearly at increasing energies and luminosities remains a unique facility for probing new physics possibilities. Searches for the standard model Higgs boson are presented and the signatures for the leading candidate of physics beyond the standard model, supersymmetry are explored. Constraints on models with large extra dimensions are also discussed. (15 refs).
