Results on CP violation from NA48
The main goal of the NA48 experiment at the CERN SPS accelerator is the measurement of the direct CP violation parameter $\Re(\epsilon'/\epsilon)$ in the $K^{0} \to 2\pi$ decays, with an accuracy close to $2 \times 10^{-4}$. The preliminary result obtained from 1998 data is reviewed. The use of...

Sumario: | The main goal of the NA48 experiment at the CERN SPS accelerator is the measurement of the direct CP violation parameter $\Re(\epsilon'/\epsilon)$ in the $K^{0} \to 2\pi$ decays, with an accuracy close to $2 \times 10^{-4}$. The preliminary result obtained from 1998 data is reviewed. The use of intense $K_{S}^{0}$ and $K_{L}^{0}$ beams allows in parallel the investigation of rare CP violating decays. The future project aiming to study direct CP violation with charged kaon beams is briefly discussed. |
