description The experimental program of the Atomic Spectroscopy And Collisions Using Slow Antiprotons (ASACUSA) experiment at CERN is described. High precision laser and microwave spectroscopy experiments of metastable antiprotonic helium atoms are now under way, using the newly-built Antiproton Decelerator (AD) facility. In the next phase, an ultra-low energy (T~10 eV) antiproton beam will be produced using a radio frequency quadrupole post-decelerator and a Penning trap. Atomic collisions of antiprotons will be studied, various types of antiprotonic atoms will be produced, and laser spectroscopy of these atoms will be made. (21 refs).
