Angular correlations of high momentum photons at 158 AGeV p+A and Pb +Pb collisions

Sumario: | The WA98 experiment at the CERN SPS examined p+A and Pb+Pb reactions at 158 AGeV. Azimuthal gamma - gamma correlations at high p/sub T/ were studied with the leadglass calorimeter LEDA in search for a signal of jet-like structures. A clear indication for back-to-back correlations can be seen with a strong dependence on the p/sub T/ of the photons and the size of the system. A comparison with event generators is presented.
