Charmonia suppression in p-A collisions at 450 GeV/c: new results from NA50

Drell-Yan, J/$\psi$ and $\psi^{\prime}$ production in proton-induced collisions on Be, Al, Cu, Ag and W targets has been studied by the NA50 collaboration at the CERN SPS. Results on absolute cross sections and cross section ratios are presented. We show that J/$\psi$ suppression in proton-nucleus a...

Sumario:Drell-Yan, J/$\psi$ and $\psi^{\prime}$ production in proton-induced collisions on Be, Al, Cu, Ag and W targets has been studied by the NA50 collaboration at the CERN SPS. Results on absolute cross sections and cross section ratios are presented. We show that J/$\psi$ suppression in proton-nucleus and in sulphur-uranium collisions can be understood in terms of nuclear absorption and there is no indication of an additional suppression mechanism in S-U collisions compared to p-A.
