description A review of the searches for supersymmetry under the assumption of R- parity violation, in e/sup +/e/sup -/ collisions at LEP is presented. After a brief introduction on the most important aspects of the phenomenology of the R-parity violation, the current status of the different searches of all four collaborations (ALEPH, DELPHI, L3, OPAL) is stated. Reported results (unless stated otherwise), are obtained from the 1998 data recorded at centre of mass energy of 189 GeV. No evidence for deviations with respect to the standard model expectations was found and limits on the production cross section and the masses of supersymmetric particles were derived. (25 refs).
