Sumario: | Charm production in two-photon collisions has been measured at LEP for center of mass energies of square root S/sub e//sup +//sub e//sup -/=183-189 GeV using the ALEPH detector. Charm events have been detected via muons from semi leptonic decays and via inclusive D/sup */ production. Preliminary results are presented. The total cross section sigma (e/sup +/e/sup -/ to e/sup +/e/sup -/cc) has been measured. The relative fractions of the contributing processes have been determined for the acceptance range of D/sup */ mesons. Differential D/sup */ cross sections in the transverse momentum and the pseudorapidity of the D/sup */'s have been measured and compared to NLO QCD calculations. (14 refs). |
