Sumario:The quadrupole interaction of 111Cd in undoped (congruent) and Mg-doped LiNbO3 single crystals has been studied using the perturbed angular correlation technique after implantation of 111In and 111mCd. A stepwise-annealing procedure shows the lattice to be fully reconstructed at 773 K. Our results show that both In and Cd are in the Li position. Mg doping at 6 mol % does not have any effect on the lattice location of these impurities in LiNbO3.
