Sumario: | A grid is an environment that provides access and management for the whole range of computing resources needed to solve complex computing and data handling problems. A grid is a well understood and standardized set of interfaces and Web-Services for directory services, brokerage and usage. New high-bandwidth networking technology allows for the synergetic usage of resources and thus yields in a new class of e-Science applications. The LHC Computing Grid project serves as an example to discuss the technical realization. (9 refs). |
