Proposal for the Award of a Contract for the Electrical Installations for the ATLAS Project

This document concerns the award of a contract for the electrical installations for the ATLAS Project. The work will be entirely financed within the framework of the special contribution of the Canton of Geneva towards the ATLAS Project. For the reasons explained, the Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the firm ATEL BORNET (CH), the lowest bidder, for the electrical installations for the ATLAS Project for a total amount of 2 150 000 Swiss francs, not subject to revision. The procedure followed is defined in the "Financial Guidelines for LHC Collaborations" (CERN/FC/3796/Rev.) Case B. CERN has now been mandated by DAEL (the representative of the Canton of Geneva) to enter into a contract with the firm selected by DAEL. A condition for the special contribution from DAEL is that risks and liabilities associated with the execution of the contract shall be borne by CERN. In this case, the approval of the Finance Committee must be obtained prior to the conclusion of the contract.
