ALICE Zero Degree Calorimeter. Assembly of the ZDC calorimeter: first step.
W-alloy plates are superimposed and fibres are inserted one-by-one into the grooves (fig. 2-3-4). The fibres are fixed at the beginning of each plate using a special quartz wax (fig. 6-7).
