Measuremement of the W mass in e+e- collisions at sqrt{s} between 183 and 209 GeV.

The mass of the W boson is determined in e+e- collisions with the ALEPH detector at LEP by direct reconstruction of W decays in fully hadronic and semi-leptonic events. Four data samples are used; one of 57 pb^{-1} taken in 1997 at a centre-of-mass energy of 183 GeV, the second of 174 pb^{-1} in 199...

Sumario:The mass of the W boson is determined in e+e- collisions with the ALEPH detector at LEP by direct reconstruction of W decays in fully hadronic and semi-leptonic events. Four data samples are used; one of 57 pb^{-1} taken in 1997 at a centre-of-mass energy of 183 GeV, the second of 174 pb^{-1} in 1998 at 189 GeV, the third of 237 pb^{-1} in 1999 between 192 and 202 GeV and the fourth of 216 pb^{-1} in 2000 at energies from 200 to 209 GeV. The combination of these results, analysed using identical procedures, yields: Mw = 80.385+-0.042(stat.)+-0.033(syst.)+-0.018(FSI)+-0.017(LEP) GeV/c**2 where FSI represents the possible effects of final state interactions.
