Proposal for the award of a contract for the supply of aluminium conductor for replacement coils for the PS main magnets

This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of aluminium conductor for replacement coils for the PS main magnets. Following a call for tenders IT-3243/AT sent on 25 June 2003 to 12 firms in six Member States, CERN had received, by the closing date, three tenders from three firms in two Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with HOLTON MACHINERY (GB), the lowest bidder complying with the specification, for the supply of up to 464 hollow aluminium conductor lengths for replacement coils for the PS main magnets for a total amount of 978 311 euros (1 508 752 Swiss francs), not subject to revision. The rate of exchange used is that stipulated in the tender. The firm has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: GB - 100%.
