description Monte Carlo simulated light quark dijet events are investigated in the ATLAS Central and Extended Barrel calorimeters covering the pseudorapidity up to 1.7. A standard cone algorithm and a jet energy reconstruction procedure using the information of the energy deposited in the various calorimeter compartments are used to evaluate the performance, both intrinsic and in the presence of noise and pileup. The main results are based on the comparison between reconstructed jet energy and the particle level energy after fragmentation. Simple parametrizations of the resolution for different configurations are also provided.
