description The electroweak production of single top quarks via so-called W-gluon fusion in proton-proton interactions at sqrt(s)=14 TeV has been studied. Single Top quark production cross sections have been calculated. Simulations of the top quark production in W-gluon fusion process with further decay to Wb -> l nu b final state and of the corresponding backgrounds have been performed. The use of several kinematical distributions allowed to suppress backgrounds and to perform the reconstruction of the mass of the e - nu - jet system.
