The Read-Out Buffer in DAQ/EF Prototype -1

This document summarises the work done on the Read-Out Buffer in thecontext of the DAQ/EF -1 project. In particular, it describes thedesign and implementation of three ROBINs, two of which are based onPMCs: a commercial solution based on the CES MFCC8441;a custom solution using an i960 processor.Results on measurements of the performance of the Read-Out Buffer,as a function of the ROBIN flavour, are presented and discussed inthe context of the Read-Out Crate of DAQ/EF -1.
