Sumario: | The radiation level in the LHCb cavern strongly suggests to place the L1 Electronics behind the concrete wall to avoid Single Event Upset (SEU) in FPGA. For the VELO this implies the necessity for ~60 m long transmission lines from the VELO vacuum vessel to the L1 electronics. This note reports a feasibility study for such a long connection using twisted pair cables. |
