Tuning of multiple interactions generated by PYTHIA

Written contribution to the Workshop on Standard Model Physics (and more) at the LHC, held at CERN during 1999 We present a tuning of the multiple interactions models available in PYTHIA based on charged multiplicities measured at various center-of-mass energies by UA5 and CDF. description Written contribution to the Workshop on Standard Model Physics (and more) at the LHC, held at CERN during 1999 We present a tuning of the multiple interactions models available in PYTHIA based on charged multiplicities measured at various center-of-mass energies by UA5 and CDF. Using modern parton distribution functions that include recent HERA data, we extract the energy dependence of the lower Pt cut-off in multiple interactions. These results are used to predict various multiplicity observables at LHC.
