Sumario:The sensitivity of the ATLAS experiment for a discovery of the SM Higgs boson in the weak boson fusion qqH with H to tau tau and tau to e,mu is studied. The tagging of two high energy forward jets and a veto of soft jets in the central region of the detector provide powerful tools for background suppression. In addition the two lepton final state with missing energy allows the reconstruction of the Higgs mass with a resolution of 10 %. Signal and background rates as well as the final signal significance are evaluated for a SM Higgs boson in the mass range between 110 and 150 GeV.
