Comparison of Different Irradiation Procedures for Recently Optimized Russian PbWO4 Crystals

The comparison of different irradiation procedures has been made on a set of 12 crystals recently produced in the Bogoroditsk Plant in Russia after a final optimization before the preproduction start. description The comparison of different irradiation procedures has been made on a set of 12 crystals recently produced in the Bogoroditsk Plant in Russia after a final optimization before the preproduction start. All these crystals are optically qualified according to specifications. The aim is to predict the behavior of crystals at LHC by means of rather simple tests using existing irradiation facilities. Particularly important is the comparison at low dose rate ( as predicted by models for LHC running) for front and lateral gamma rays irradiation. A comparison with longitudinal minimum ionizing pions has also been made on 2 crystals.
