description | This document is the following step after CMS-TN 95-020 [1] where the principle of a unified Front End Driver for CMS has been introduced and studied. It is now the time to move further and specify the detector dependent part ( DDU) of the Readout Unit ( RU) in a more definitive way both on the functional and physical aspect. However, due to the different phases in the usage of the DDU ( prototypes, detector study and tuning, beam test-) and economic constraints, its physical implementation may change with the time to accommodate the different phases listed above. After an introduction dedicated to a general description of the RU, the DDU functionality is presented. Then in the last part, the physical implementation is addressed. As it is a working document, your comments are welcome and - expected! You can get in touch with me at: attila.racz@cern.ch |
