Darkening of quartz fibers irradiated by 500 MeV electrons at CERN

The LIL beam test facility has been used to irradiate few samples of quartz fibers with high OH content. We report on the darkening of one Polymicro fiber ( quartz core, plastic hard clad) while irradiated by 5x10**16 500 MeV electrons.
