The eta=3 Region of EE, HE and HF: Using 1-TeV jets in PYTHIA-GEANT
We calculate the response of HF to 1 TeV jets, together with a simple mock-up of the EE and HE calorimeters in the eta = 3 region. Sumario: | We calculate the response of HF to 1 TeV jets, together with a simple mock-up of the EE and HE calorimeters in the eta = 3 region. This region is scanned at fixed values of eta-jet = 2.9, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.6, for aluminum pre-shower support radiators of 0, 1.50, 2.50 and 5.0 Xo. The effects of a 1.5-Xo aluminum pre-shower support are found to be not deleterious to HF performance. Furthermore, simple jet reconstruction is nearly uniform across the HF-EE-HE boundary. |
