description The production of the heavy charged Higgs from pp -> tH+ in the H+ -> tau + neutrino decay mode is investigated in CMS. The tau polarization effects favour the signal against the backgrounds with W -> tau + neutrino decay when the tau-jets with a major fraction of energy carried by a single isolated hadron are selected. The W and top masses are reconstructed from jets requiring one tagged b-jet. In the purely hadronic final states an almost background-free signal is found in the transverse mass distribution reconstructed from the tau jet and the missing transverse energy. The expected discovery range is evaluated for CMS with 30 fb-1 in the low luminosity running conditions.
