description The possibilities to detect and measure various Higgs signals in the mass range from 300-600 GeV are investigated using a simplified description of the CMS experiment. Our studies have concentrated on the possibilities to separate signals obtained from the gluon-gluon fusion and the weak boson fusion process. Significant signals from the gluon-gluon fusion process are obtained for H -> ZZ -> lepton-lepton-lepton-lepton, H -> ZZ -> lepton-lepton nu nu, and with a smaller signal to background ratio for H -> WW -> lepton nu lepton nu. Additional signals with relatively large statistics are obtained from the weak boson fusion process in the channels H -> WW -> lepton nu jet jet, H -> WW -> lepton nu lepton nu and H -> ZZ -> lepton lepton jet jet. Combining the different signatures, we expect that a Higgs with a mass between 300-600 GeV can be discovered a lready with a luminosity of about 2-3 fb-1 and that its cross sections in the two different production modes can be measured each with accuracies of about +-10%.
