Expected Data Rates from the Silicon Strip Tracker

Detailed results are presented on the strip occupancy in the silicon strip tracker. These are used to deduce the data rate which will flow into the DAQ from each FED of the tracker. Sumario:Detailed results are presented on the strip occupancy in the silicon strip tracker. These are used to deduce the data rate which will flow into the DAQ from each FED of the tracker. This is done for high and low luminosity proton-proton collisions and also for ion-ion collisions. In addition, a proposal is made on which pairs of FEDs should have their output data streams merged into a single Front-end Readout Link, to reduce the number of DAQ event-builder switch inputs required by the tracker.
