SUSY and Dark Matter Searches at the LHC

We discuss the main features of the CMS detector and the expected performance of CMS in sparticle searches. The study is done within the framework of the mSUGRA - MSSM model. We discuss the domain of parameter space ( m0, m1/2) for tgbeta = 2, A0 = 0, mu < 0 which can be explored in slepton,...

Sumario:We discuss the main features of the CMS detector and the expected performance of CMS in sparticle searches. The study is done within the framework of the mSUGRA - MSSM model. We discuss the domain of parameter space ( m0, m1/2) for tgbeta = 2, A0 = 0, mu < 0 which can be explored in slepton, chargino-neutralino and squark or gluon searches, and the expected mass reach for the various sparticles. Particular emphasis is put on how well can be probed the domain where the lightest neutralino would be an adequate dark matter candidate particle and the ways to determine its mass.
