description We present a model to simulate the response of the pixel detector to be used in the inner tracking sytem of the ALICE experiment. The model describes the effects of geometrical charge sharing, electronic noise and coupling between pixel channels, which cannot be accounted for by usual tracking packages. It also takes into account the contribution due to delta-rays. We tested our model with the Omega3 pixel detector. We show that the model is able to reproduce the experimental data and the resulting parameters are consistent with the measurements made on the Omega3 chip.
