Proposal for the award of a contract for the supply of four cryogenic precooler and absorber units for the LHC

This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of four cryogenic precooler and adsorber units for the LHC. Following a market survey carried out among 30 firms in twelve Member States, a call for tenders (IT-3063/AT/LHC) was sent on 30 June 2003 to two firms and two consortia in four Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received three tenders from three firms in three Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with LINDE KRYOTECHNIK (CH), the lowest bidder complying with the specification, for the supply of four cryogenic precooler and adsorber units for a total amount of 7 702 000 Swiss francs , not subject to revision. The firm has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: DE - 46%; CH - 44%; NL - 10%.
