Proposal for the award of a contract for the supply, installation and maintenance of radiation and environmental monitoring for the LHC

This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply, installation and maintenance of radiation and environmental monitoring for the LHC. Following a market survey carried out among 53 firms in twelve Member States, a call for tenders (IT-3091/TIS/LHC) was sent on 17 July 2003 to seven firms and five consortia in eight Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received seven tenders from one firm and six consortia in six Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the consortium ASSYSTEM INDUSTRIAL SERVICES (FR) - GENITRON INSTRUMENTS (DE), the lowest bidder, for the supply, installation and maintenance of radiation and environmental monitoring for the LHC for a total amount not exceeding 5 474 000 euros (8 457 000 Swiss francs), subject to revision for inflation after 1 January 2007. The rate of exchange used is that stipulated in the tender. The consortium has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: DE - 57%; FR - 39%; IT - 1%; GB - 1%; US - 2%.
