Sumario: | The baseline design for the VELO detector, as implemented in SICBMC and XmlDDDB, has been used to estimate the contribution of this detector to the amount of material traversed by particles in the LHCb spectrometer. This average contributions to the radiation and interaction length have been found to be 16.5\% of an $X_0$ and 3.8\% of a $\lambda_0$ in the range 2.0$< \eta <$ 5.0. The average contributions from the different components of the VELO and from diferent regions of phase space are presented. |
