Sumario: | 96-08 In the present note we discuss the results of the first optimization of the geometry of the Electromagntic Calorimeter (ECAL) for the LHC-B experiment. Since the trigger performance as well as the minimum bias background are not studied well, here we are mainly aimed to study the trigger efficiencies for the processes of interest, depending on the geometrical sizes of the calorimeter. In the same time some estimations of minimum bias occupancies was also done. This work helps to understand the ways of reducing of the calorimeter cost. In the same time the presented study answers the important question: ``if the reasonable option for the inner part of the calorimeter will not be found, whether it will be critical for the experiment goals?'' We do not discuss here the optimization of the calorimeter cells granularities, which is dictated by numerous factors, such as calorimeter and trigger technologies, minimum bias occupancies and tracker structure. Such work requi |
