Selection of B0(s)-->h+h- decays at LHCb

Sumario:The selection of B0-->pi+pi-, B0-->K+pi-, Bs-->K+K- and Bs-->pi+K- decays, which are traditionally chosen as benchmark channels to demonstrate the physics potential of the detector for fully hadronic modes, is presented. The strategy followed to identify the best selection cuts is described. Estimated annual signal yields and background-to-signal ratios for specific and combinatorial backgrounds are quoted. Relevant quantities, such as mass resolution, proper time resolution and proper time acceptance of signal events are studied in detail. Mass and proper time distributions of combinatorial background events are also investigated.
