Choice of running luminosity for LHCb, and performance of pile-up tag

97-014 It is discussed how the yield of B events in single interactions varies with the running luminosity and the use of pile-up veto. Possibile pile-up tags at Level-0 from both the calorimeter system and the microvertex detector are assessed. This note is revised with respect to the version of 2nd October 1997, with numbers and figures updated to account for new understanding of the bunch structure of the LHC.
