Sumario:Data of a beam test in Autumn 1999 have been analysed to determine the pulse shape of the signal as read out by an SCTA chip from a detector prototype for the LHCb Vertex Locator. The measurements have been performed at different bias voltages and distinguishing non-irradiated and irradiated regions on the detector. The results are interpreted in terms of the signal overspill that remains for the subsequent readout after 25 ns, and an optimal working point is determined, considering both the signal amplitude and the overspill fraction.
