Sumario:The LHC Beam Cleaning Study Group organized a CERN meeting on absorbers and collimators for the LHC on January 25th, 2002. This meeting tried to bring together the available CERN experts in the field of beam absorbers, collimators, and targets. The goal was to identify the most promising solutions (material, geometry, concept ) for collimator survival during regular and irregular LHC operation. This note summarizes the outcome of the meeting and the recommendations from the participants. In particular it was strongly recommended to adopt a low Z material for the collimator jaws. The transparencies from the speakers are available in electronic format at http://www.cern.ch/lhc-collimation.
